Spring/Summer ’19 hair trends

Phil Murkin, Master Colour Expert at Reflections, Bradley Stoke, talks 2019 must-have hair trends…

Looking forward to Spring/Summer after a long cold winter? One thing for sure is colour is going to feature a lot with new colour trends exploding on Instagram.

Here are a few trends to watch out for.

  • Pantone dubbed Living Coral the colour of the year for 2019, describing it as “an animating and life-affirming coral hue with a golden undertone.”

I recommend this shade for the bold-hearted, although it can be muted for more of a washed out feel and it will look fab on anyone who tries it. The golden undertone enhances everyone’s eye colour—blues and greens pop, while browns look warmer—and softens all skin tones.

  • We’ll continue to see a variety of pastels, including soft coral, blush pink, and pastel blue.

Soft pastel tones can complement any hair colour and skin tone, they are great as a bold statement like an all over colour, or something more subtle like hidden flashes, these colours are easily achieved with the help of the Wella Colour Create pallet as the intermixable tones can create the perfect pastel tone.

  • Wood hair is the hair equivalent of shiny, new wood floors: simply gorgeous. Wood is a brunette hue with hints of pale ash, maple or pine shades, which creates a raw dimension and elegant aesthetic.  In other words, it’s a timeless classic brunette colour you can wear every season. These tones can be effetely created using the Illumina rage by Wella and styled using the amazing colour wow dreamcoat to create the glass like shine on your locks.

With the introduction of the new Illumina Opal essence colour range, the choices of colour is only limited by your own personal choice.

As a Master Colour Expert I’m able to assess not only your hair, but your skin tone, eye colour and lifestyle, this will all result in the most personalised colour that will see you skipping into the summer months.
